Your responsibilities

Job Summary

To coach and otherwise guide a team of employees to achieve optimum levels of productivity, quality and safety while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This typically includes recruiting and hiring qualified employees and ensuring that they receive all necessary training and education. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for maintaining a motivational work environment through appropriate goal-setting, operating principles, communication, and fair treatment of all employees. As necessary, the supervisor must take action to correct poor performance and poor behavior that puts the employee or team at risk or impacts the team’s ability to achieve its objectives.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budgetTeach, coach and demonstrate work activities for team members.
  • Responsible for conducting performance reviews and disciplinary functions
  • Responsible for coordinating, assigning, and reviewing work
  • Direct staff on priority of work to be accomplished
  • Accountable for ensuring that all team members receive required instruction in safety procedures, proper use of equipment, performance standards, disciplinary processes and other workplace and Company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties as required.
  • Responsible for reporting any accidents or incidents that occur within the designated facility (on- or off-site). Accident or incident reports must be completed by the supervisor immediately when such event occurs and forwarded directly to the Operations Manager within 24 hours
  • Monitor working conditions regularly to ensure the safety of all team members. Take timely corrective action as required and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Apply problem solving techniques to ensure all personnel and quality issues are resolved in a timely manner (examples: 8D; 5 Why; Kaizen Newsletters)
  • Other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic math and reading skills obtained by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience and successful past performance.
  • Warehouse experience with forklift, packing and measuring.
  • Must also demonstrate successful leadership and team building skills – even if from an unrelated business or non-business organization.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years previous supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Possess the knowledge of metals handled in regard to proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping
  • First aid and CPR training
  • Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices and sale functions.

  • déclarer tout accident ou incident survenu dans les installations (ou ailleurs). Le superviseur doit remplir un rapport d'accident ou d'incident dès que l'événement survient et transmettre ce rapport au directeur de l'exploitation dans un délai de 24 heures;
  • surveiller les conditions de travail régulièrement pour assurer la sécurité de tous les membres de l'équipe; prendre en temps opportun les mesures correctives et disciplinaires qui s'imposent;
  • appliquer les techniques de résolution de problèmes pour assurer que toutes les questions relatives au personnel ou à la qualité soient réglées en temps opportun (exemples : méthode 8D, 5 pourquoi et bulletin Kaizen);
  • exécuter toute autre tâche à la demande du directeur de l’exploitation ou du directeur d’usine;
  • posséder les qualités et compétences exigées des employés de TKMNA.

Exigences minimales :

  • compétences de base en mathématiques et en lecture acquises en achevant un diplôme d'études secondaires ou l'équivalent;
  • compétences de base en informatique;
  • compétences en relations interpersonnelles permettant de communiquer avec le directeur d'usine et le personnel des ventes et de l'entrepôt;
  • compréhension éprouvée de l'équipement et des tolérances, fondée sur l'expérience et sur un rendement antérieur satisfaisant;
  • expérience de travail en entrepôt incluant la conduite d'un chariot élévateur ainsi que des activités d'emballage et de mesure;
  • solides compétences (pouvant avoir été acquises dans un tout autre contexte) en leadership et en consolidation d'équipe.

  • baccalauréat;
  • deux à trois ans d'expérience dans un poste de supervision;
  • connaissances appropriées sur l'entreposage, le traitement, l'emballage et l'expédition des métaux;
  • formation en secourisme et en RCR;
  • connaissance des relations de travail, des programmes de sécurité, des normes ISO, des pratiques de gestion allégée et des ventes.
