Your responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Automation Engineer IV is responsible for designing and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems, loop diagrams, and I/0 cabinets. POLAB troubleshooting, POLAB technical quotation, and promote technically POLAB to Polysius clients. This individual will be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each challenge.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce deliverables as required to fulfill project needs as part of a team of automation engineering and instrumentation team. Project deliverables will include, but are not limited to:
    • PLC system specification.
    • Network diagram configuration and equipment specification.
    • I/O’s List/equipment specification.
    • Elaborate all PLC and I/O cabinets’ drawings for sub-supplier’s quotation.
    • RFQ and RFP, etc.
    • PLC and HMI system programming and configuration specifications.
  • Participate in meeting with sub-supplier to provide technical clarification.
  • Participate and assist in witness tests, FAT, packaged equipment, E-houses, analyzers, and control panels.
  • Provide POLAB troubleshooting, POLAB technical quotations and promoting POLAB to Polysius clients.
  • Assist on-site with POLAB troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May provide technical guidance to other engineers or technicians.
  • Acts as a mentor to other engineers in the work group sharing experience and knowledge.

Your profile

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Electrical, or Automation.
  • Minimum of 10 years in material handling, cement, and/or mining industries.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Rockwell ControlLogix Configuration and Programming
  • SIEMENS PLC Configuration and Programming
  • Knowledge and use of AutoCAD and EPLAN
  • Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • POLCID Automation system experience
  • Prior participation and experience in projects, commissioning, and start up in cement and/or mining industries.
  • Participation in international projects and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of a 2nd language is a plus (e.g., Spanish, German, French).
  • Dedication to a safe and environmentally compliant project.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential due to the international coordination potential of the position.
  • Able to show initiative, decisiveness, and works well within a team environment.
  • The candidate must be able to take a project from conception through completion. Must have strong layout/design skills.
  • Highly motivated and well organized and possesses a strong work ethic.

Travel Demands:

  • Up to 35% travel to subsidiaries and project sites or required.
