Summary
The Buyer is a key contributor in the thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components team. Working in cross-function support role, the Buyer works with internal (Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.) and external customers (suppliers, OEMs, the Global Camshafts Procurement team, stationed in 9 different countries world-wide etc.). This role works on a number of complex and exciting projects relating to direct materials and project buying. The Buyer works in a dynamic and highly collaborative team.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other applicable discipline and 3-5 years experience as a Purchasing Professional. Experience in Automotive, Manufacturing, Medical or Aerospace preferred.
- Language: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to read, drawings and interpret specifications for buying purposes.
- Technology: MRP experience (SAP preferred) required, Microsoft Office
- Travel: Occasional travel, up to 10% including international

Key Deliverables:
The Buyer serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by on time deliver, customer satisfaction and costing savings. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
- Prepare and send RFI, RFP, RFQs with potential or current direct material suppliers to obtain maximum value.
- Evaluate competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product or best service.
- Assist corporate commodity buyers with direct material supplier relationship management.
- Visit direct material suppliers both new and current to represent ThyssenKrupp Dynamic Components Danville, LLC. Support the development of new direct material suppliers in cooperation with quality group and corporate commodity buyers.
- Support negotiations with direct material suppliers with corporate commodity buyers for the NAFTA region.
- Assist production planning/Logistics on commercial and delivery related issues.
- Participate in Project teams to evaluate and achieve program cost reductions.
- Tracking of cost reduction savings as defined.
- Assists and supports assigned MRO indirect purchasing functions as needed to accomplish the facility and Company's commitments.
- Supports and provides data to assist the team needs as required.
- Work with accounting on all direct material supplier payment discrepancies/terms of payment.
- Maintains open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers.
- Must be able to travel domestically and international as needed.
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Has authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, identify and place suspect product on quality hold, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant.
