Now Hiring: Aluminum Plate Product Manager
Location Preferred: Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Cleveland, Hartford (Must be near a major airport)
Business Unit: Copper and Brass Sales
Travel Requirement: Up to 50% across U.S. and Canada
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for someone who’s grown from the warehouse floor and understands the ins and outs of plate processing — especially aluminum — and now wants to step into a strategic leadership role. You’ll partner across operations, sales, and supply chain to drive process improvements, elevate safety and productivity, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Focus
- Lead aluminum plate processing initiatives: saws, routers, CNCs, water jets
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and best practices
- Reduce scrap and optimize plate yield and utilization
- Work closely with equipment manufacturers and manage tooling, blades, lubricants, etc.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and lead a high-performing processing team across sites
Sales & Purchasing Collaboration
- Communicate technical warehouse capabilities to sales teams
- Support aluminum plate quoting, contracts, and supplier relations
- Align product strategy with market demand and supply chain planning
- Build relationships with producers, OEMs, and suppliers
Leadership & Strategy
- Drive a safety-first and efficiency-driven work culture
- Influence leadership decisions using real data and KPIs
- Track performance: scrap %, plate packaging cost per pound, daily backlog, OTIF, etc.
- Present insights to key stakeholders and recommend actionable improvements
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business, Operations, or equivalent work experience (10+ years)
- Strong understanding of plate saw operations and warehouse processing
- Proven communicator between warehouse floor and commercial teams
- Ability to analyze data, develop strategies, and manage cross-functional projects
- Excellent computer proficiency (data analysis, dashboards, reporting tools)
- Must be a self-starter, team builder, and solution driver
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced business training
- Prior experience operating plate processing equipment
- Existing relationships with aluminum producers, suppliers, and OEMs
- Knowledge of automated handling systems and advanced packaging lines
- Comfortable making sales calls and supplier visits

Job Compensation
$120,000-135,000 + 25% Bonus Incentive
