Your responsibilities

SALARY: $31.73/hour
SHIFT PREMIUM: $1.50/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a 3rd shift position. Perform physical operations in the inspection cell/department. Perform inspections for compliance to the appropriate drawings, referenced specifications and other written or verbal instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
  • Inspections shall be performed in accordance with the verbal and/or written instructions of the immediate supervisor or assigned delegates.
  • Inspections shall be performed by utilizing all available standard and special inspection and quality control equipment and techniques.
  • The inspector will document as required all findings on the appropriate records, reports and notices. The inspector will also be responsible for reporting all discrepancies to the immediate supervisor or an assigned delegate, and the supervisor in charge of the department in which these discrepancies are found.
  • Through continuous monitoring and measurement, assure that all products meet or exceed the customer expectations and assure compliance with all procedural requirements. Populate any Quality related documentation necessary to meet Customer requirements. Assure that all Manufacturing and Quality related tools/materials are in calibration and of the latest revision
  • Assemble and set gauges for his/her own use. The inspector will also recheck, on a periodic and as needed basis, these gauges for condition and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the periodic maintenance and calibration of all inspection and quality control equipment according to the current procedures as established.
  • Responsible for the accountability of unassigned inspection and quality control equipment during scheduled duty hours. The inspector also will be responsible for storage of the a/m equipment, the general cleanliness of the work area during duty hours, and cleanup of the work area and tools at the completion of the shift.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of inspection/quality control records and files during the assigned shift.
  • Assist as required any government or commercial source inspector in the performance of source inspection as directed. This will include the obtaining of equipment, materials, and space necessary to perform the inspection and necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in or perform source inspection for Rotek, as directed, at other than the normal work facility.
  • Perform other inspection and quality control related functions, as required, whether or not expressed or implied in the.
  • Through continuous monitoring and measurement, assure that all products meet or exceed the customer expectations and assure compliance with all procedural requirements.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Mathematical – Basic math skills must include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals. Knowledge and understanding of basic algebra and plane geometry. Must be knowledgeable of metric conversions.
  • Must be skilled in blue print reading.
  • Perform data entry in personal computer quality databases.
  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED. Previous machining experience and practices required. Blueprint and GD&T knowledge also required.

    EXPORT CONTROL: This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
