Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate entry of materials and goods received into inventory. The ideal person will be informed and organized in documentation of transactions and thrives as a materials coordinator (Shipping, damaged goods, returns). Shipping and Receiving Associate – 1st Shift
Location: Franklin, WI
Starting Pay: $21 per hour
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team on 1st shift in Franklin, WI. This role is essential to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our warehouse operations and will work directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery and metal materials.
Key Accountabilities:
Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
Oversee the safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments, particularly metal materials.
Process items for shipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Review all international shipment documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Maintain timely, effective, and professional communication with all internal and external customers and suppliers.
Responsible for accurate record keeping, filing, and other administrative duties as required.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
Work directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery and metals.

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math and reading skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Basic computer skills
Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant managers, sales staff, and plant personnel
Demonstrated ability to understand equipment and tolerances through prior experience and proven performance
Warehouse experience including forklift operation, packing, measuring, and handling metals
Strong safety mindset
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with metals, including knowledge of proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping practices
First aid and CPR training
Exposure to SAP systems, safety programs, ISO standards, and lean manufacturing practices
