Your responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Assists the shift Team Leads in answering requests, emails, and phone/radio calls.
  • Monitors the workload to ensure all KPI’s are met.
  • Monitors all MRO ordering to ensure on time deliveries and no production downtime.
  • Ensures individual and team output/production meets goals and objectives.
  • Ensures team is working within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
  • Acts as backup to leading daily start up meetings to communicate daily goals and special announcements. (should this be on here if the Team Lead for the shift is expected to do this?)
  • Coordinates manpower to ensure needs are met in the event of an employee absence (i.e. vacation). Interprets specifications and job orders to warehouse team members and assigns duties.
  • Promotes and supports a teamwork approach to achieving goals, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Ensures the development of warehouse team members through cross-training and monitoring job performance. Assists in training of new hires when needed. Recognizes good performance and takes corrective action when needed.
  • Embraces a continuous improvement approach through effective leadership, with high levels of integrity and performance for his/herself and others.
  • Performs as a superior role model for all employees (e.g. attendance).
  • Ensures implementation of 6S throughout the warehouse.
  • Assists in maintaining the current Warehouse Management System; and Warehouse Management module in SAP.
  • Operates forklift as needed to assist warehouse team members in keeping up with demand to include replenishing items, moving pallets to different locations or assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to eliminate waste and increase overall efficiencies.
  • Maintains and improves inventory integrity.
  • Available on an as-needed basis to assist in coverage across all shifts when Team Leads are on PTO or absent from work for other reasons.
  • Is approachable, professional, and courteous to all employees and is expected to answer all questions and assist in problem solving.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams in situations associated with high volumes of work and/or customer demands. This would include providing direction, coaching, and effective feedback to team members.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating facility material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, tuggers, dock stockers, etc.)
  • Experience operating various stand-up forklifts.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP in WM module preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts).
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to work at a height of up to 25 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training).
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.

General Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; assistance is available for heavier loads.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed to perform job duties.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements for material handling and equipment operation.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs or ladders as needed in a warehouse environment.

Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation:

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, tuggers, and other material handling equipment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
  • Adequate visual and auditory ability to safely navigate equipment and respond to environmental cues, such as alarms or verbal instructions.

Computer Use & Administrative Tasks:

  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen devices for administrative duties.
  • Ability to remain in a seated or standing position for extended periods while performing job-related tasks.

Work Environment & Sensory Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, moving equipment, and airborne particles.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, as applicable.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
