Your responsibilities

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that customer orders are shipped on-time and error free to the customer. Communicates any issues with missed shipments internally to ensure that customers are alerted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Prepares items for shipment according to plant/customer requirements.
  • Communicates customer requirements and variances with leadership and scheduling team.
  • Checks to assure all labels on containers match parts inside containers.
  • Labels, stamps, or stencils containers as required by specific customer.
  • Scans shipping labels against the BOL to ensure all material is loaded accurately.
  • Loads trucks after ensuring trailer wheels are checked and safe before loading.
  • Ensures driver signs bills and attach packing list to freight.
  • Assists in unloading freight and taking to storage
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED required; logistics training/education a plus
  • Possesses a stable work history and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating facility material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, pallet jacks, automated storage & retrieval systems, carousel) and picking and packing equipment (e.g. scanner, scale, tape machine).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced work environment.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Hands on experience working within a shipping department is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver results.
