Job Summary
The IT Business Systems Analyst serves as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, analyzing and optimizing enterprise systems and applications to support organizational goals. Key Responsibilities:
Requirements & Systems Analysis
- Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for new systems, enhancements, and integrations
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, system requirements documents, and user stories
- Analyze existing business systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, or opportunities for automation
- Develop process flows, data flow diagrams, system architecture diagrams, and integration maps
- Conduct gap analysis between current-state and future-state system capabilities
- Partner with enterprise architecture and governance teams to ensure proposed solutions align with standards (e.g., ARB review processes)
System Configuration & Support
- Configure, test, and support business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, ticketing, or other enterprise platforms)
- Collaborate with developers and vendors to design system solutions that meet business requirements
- Support system integrations, data migrations, and interface design between platforms
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with IT teams or vendors
- Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and knowledge base articles
Testing & Implementation
- Develop test plans, test cases, and scripts for system enhancements and new implementations
- Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect tracking and resolution coordination
- Support change management activities, including training materials and end-user communication
- Participate in go-live planning, cutover activities, and post-implementation support
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
- Serve as primary point of contact between business units and IT for assigned systems
- Facilitate requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews across departments
- Present system recommendations and analysis findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure system-related artifacts and documentation meet organizational governance and standardization requirements
- Support project managers with scope definition, timelines, and risk identification for systems-related initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of experience as a business systems analyst, systems analyst, or similar IT analyst role
- Strong understanding of systems development life cycle (SDLC) and business analysis methodologies (BABOK or equivalent)
- Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, or similar platforms) — configuration, support, or implementation
- Knowledge and basic proficiency with AI tools like Microsoft CoPilot
- Experience developing requirements documentation, process flows, and system diagrams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to bridge technical and business audiences
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with process modeling or diagramming tools (Visio, Figma, Lucidchart)
