Your responsibilities
Position Summary: This is a 3rd shift position. The CMM Technician is responsible for providing inspection support of production parts using the Coordinate Measuring Machine and other various hand tools/gauges. Perform dimensional layouts of product in a lab/shop environment to specifications while producing accurate reports. This requires an individual who is a self-starter, motivated and multi-task oriented.
Experience and expertise with inspections in a production/manufacturing environment and utilizing a CMM for dimensional inspections, (detail parts, components and assemblies) is a must. Duties will include (but not limited to) receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, CMM dimensional layouts, disposition and control of nonconforming product, first article inspection and record keeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of prints / engineering drawings and CAD drawings.
- Experience with quality programs (Control of Non-conforming Material / MRB).
- Apply appropriate measurement techniques to assure product quality in accordance with requirements, acceptance sampling, and data analysis.
- Operate CMM utilizing PC-DMIS CMM software. Perform in-depth part layout using CMM, participate in capability studies, and measurement system analysis as well as other dimensional layout techniques & first article or first piece inspection reports.
- Assist machine operators/assemblers in understanding any discrepancies found during CMM checks to improve the part quality.
- Follow standardized procedures and instructions in completing first piece, in-process and final inspections.
- Understand the importance of random sampling to indicate overall performance, while auditing entire batches of product for consistency.
- Perform gauge verification and assist in maintaining gauge recall system.
Skills and Education Requirements:
Export Control: This position requires access to export controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
