Your responsibilities

Supplier handling

  • Quality responsibility for purchased parts in the assigned commodity groups;
  • Development of suppliers according to the requirements of BM;
  • Support in strategic supplier pre-selection and in the preparation of the procurement conference, as well as conducting technical discussions before awarding contracts;
  • Awareness of the actual supplier performance of the designated suppliers and if needed align with responsible SQA supporting actions (data provided by GSQA);
  • Support of the BM auditing department in the annual supplier VDA 6.3 (process audit/potential analysis) audit planning within the assigned commodity groups; support in supplier audits with commodity-specific expertise as co-auditor, lead auditor (in case SQM is qualified);
  • Planning and execution of capacity/process verification at the supplier (PRA, Run@Rate, two-day production, etc.) in accordance with logistic parameters and the nomination agreement. Monitoring of planned Safe Launch activities and evaluation of the results.

Continuous improvement

  • Conducts independent quality development of assigned suppliers, including implementation of lessons learned actions, or supports development initiatives (Q-performance, capabilities, etc.); implements optimizations as defined by RCSQM and/or GCSQM;
  • Support in cost optimization projects on individual components within the assigned commodity groups; during supplier visits, the production process is reviewed for cost-saving potential. If potential savings are identified, the development and purchasing departments are informed and a decision is made on feasibility.
  • Change requests or special approvals from suppliers within the assigned commodity group are prepared according to BM guidelines. During implementation, supplier quality-related topics are processed (e.g., supplier visits, process approvals, sampling, etc.)

Support, Projects, Changes

  • Participation in and approval of supplier feasibility studies including ABC risk assessment for purchased parts with the assigned suppliers;
  • Processing and approval of supplier APQPs and PPAPs in the assigned commodity groups;
  • Monitoring of quality-related supplier issues during the development phase (e.g., supplier visit, supplier meeting, escalation, etc.) in the assigned commodity groups.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Management, Supplier Development or Quality Engineering, preferably in the automotive;
  • knowledge about VDA 6.3, ISO 9001; IATF 16949, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, 8D;
  • certification as an internal/VDA 6.3 auditor (constitutes an advantage);
  • advanced knowledge of English and /or German;
  • good communication skills, pro-active;
  • analytical spirit, ability to work autonomously and make decisions.
