Your responsibilities

  • Central contact person in project purchasing (project manager) Proactively communicate with Product Line, Controlling, Cost Engineering, Management, Development, Sales, SCM, Plants, Quality and other internal interfaces to ensure flow of information to and from Purchasing.
  • Proactively support and collaborate with Project Buyers PCM to ensure optimal information flow to Project Purchasing.
  • Represent Project Purchasing in Plant Reviews for purchasing related issues and prepare accordingly.
  • Participate in the evaluation and coordination of VA/VE measures for purchased parts in coordination with VA/VE Purchasing Central Managers.
  • Ensure project procurement budget is met. Responsible for project status report (PSR) and project reviews (including pricing, timeline, contract information, capacity, tooling budget).
  • Define and control the tool budget in customer projects.
  • Ensuring transparency Monitoring of purchasing specific key performance indicators KPIs in project purchasing (chances and risks, targets, deviations, change management, cost down).
  • Conducting sourcing status meetings on a regular basis.
  • Regular update of team forecast and coordination with Procurement Mgmt team.
  • Create and present costwalks to track price development of the corresponding design status/framework (cost break down, value analysis, costwalk, etc.).
  • Risk and Opportunity Management Responsible for the Risk and Chances list at the project purchasing level.
  • Conduct regular cost risk review meetings per project with action tracking.
  • Initiating and implementing countermeasures (cost down) in case of corresponding deviations from material cost targets and budget specifications
  • Standardized management reporting Prepare monthly top customer meeting (one pager) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for monthly PSR report to Cost Engineering as basis for DB2 report.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings with senior management, as well as all internal customers involved.
  • Commercial Bill of Materials (C-BOM) Set up PCR for new acquisition projects based on current applicable template.
  • Enforce competition in the acquisition phase to ensure competitive pricing at time of bidding
  • Change Management Proactively submit customer change requests to Product Line for cost changes in purchasing due to customer requests/changes.
  • Ensure information flows to and from project purchasing in the change management process
  • Purchasing Processes As a representative of the Project Purchasing, responsible for preparation and execution of internal and external audits.
  • As representative of the project purchasing organization responsible for preparation and execution of reviews in the design process
  • Bottleneck management series start-up Support the supply chain process related to agreed or required capacities.
  • Responsible for project handover from central project purchasing to local production plants in the form of a Supplier Readiness Workshop.
  • Continuous Improvement Process Ensure traceable documentation of relevant communication between Product Line and Project Purchasing with focus.
  • Support internal customers by transferring supplier knowledge and market information.
  • Creating cost optimized BOMs using for example global benchmarking activities and cost down workshops.
  • Administrative support Proactive further development of the PCR tool.
  • Special Projects Coordination and processing of defined special projects in project purchasing.
  • Cross-project reporting Establish, implement and ensure EBIT tracking to track "Savings" and "Risk Avoidance" measures for Project Purchasing and in coordination with overall Purchasing.

Your profile

  • Business or engineering studies (University) ideally with additional qualification
  • Experience in purchasing, automotive industry and project management is an advantage
  • Very good communication skills and assertiveness
  • Very good English and German skills
  • Social competence / ability to work in a team
  • Conceptual thinking skills

  • Willingness to travel at home and abroad
