Aufgaben
- Ensure compliance with all applicable national, regional, and local environmental laws, permits and regulations regarding Environment and Waste Management
- Set up the company environmental management system in accordance to ISO 14001
- Support the project team "during the entire project life circle from the bid phase until the handover to clients" in all environmental related issues including development of project environmental and waste management plans
- Identify, analyze and track new and emerging environmental regulations and implement programs and procedures to maintain legal and permit compliance regarding waste management
- Drive and participate in projects to improve environmental performance
- Support in development of environmental strategic goals, yearly KPIs and initiatives
- Support in formulating and updating Uhde’s Sustainability strategy and goals (incl. KPIs and ambition levels) related to environment
- Support the company in compliance with German supply chain act (SCA)
- Responsible for the preparation and submission of all required environmental compliance reports, including the efficient monitoring of hazardous waste management
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data to assess risk and evaluate performance and legal compliance in cooperation with the HSSE team and locations representatives
- Prepare regular reports including waste statistics, analyses and management summaries
- Perform site inspections to verify compliance and drives corrective actions
- Monitoring of compliance with legal regulations in connection with waste generation and disposal
- Development of proposals and introduction of measures for waste reduction and work
Profil
- We are looking for an experienced environmental engineer/specialist with developed and demonstrated communication skills
- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related HSSE discipline; alternatively the equivalent in experience
- 3 or more years of experience managing environmental compliance programs and waste management for manufacturing facilities and/or construction projects
- Adequate knowledge of the German and European laws, regulations and best practices
- Experience in the German and European market
- Fluent in German and English (verbal and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience on management system implementation "ISO14001
- Process planning, processing techniques, interface management
- Knowledge and experience on national and international standards
