Your responsibilities

Role Summary

You will own and run the Configuration Management process according to ITIL standards. The role includes defining governance, maintaining the CMDB in ServiceNow, and working with technical teams and suppliers to keep configuration data accurate and reliable. You will work closely with the ServiceNow team and be supported by two process coordinators who assist all ITSM processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and improve the Configuration Management process based on ITIL best practices
  • Build and maintain the CMDB model in ServiceNow together with the ServiceNow team
  • Define rules for CI ownership, naming standards, lifecycle states, mandatory fields, and governance
  • Ensure CMDB completeness, accuracy, and alignment with operational processes
  • Lead data quality activities including reconciliation, CI updates, and continuous improvement
  • Work with technical teams, service owners, and suppliers to keep CI data current and reliable
  • Enable consistent CMDB usage across Incident, Change, Request Fulfilment, and Problem
  • Represent the process in CAB, operational reviews, and technical discussions

Your profile

Requiremets (Minimum):

  • Solid understanding of ITIL with ITIL Foundation as a minimum
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB or another CMDB platform
  • Ability to design and document processes, governance rules, and data models
  • Practical understanding of infrastructure components and IT services
  • Experience working with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Structured thinking, strong analytical skills, and clear communication
  • Ability to take full ownership of the process and drive endtoend improvements

Nice to have:

  • ITIL Managing Professional or higher ITIL certifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, identification & reconciliation
  • Understanding of CSDM (Common Service Data Model)
  • Experience with CMDB integrations for cloud or onprem systems
  • Background in asset management or infrastructure architecture
  • Experience working in a multivendor environment (incl. SIAM)
  • Ability to run governance forums and align stakeholders
  • Experience in Change Management
