Job Description
Industrial Engineer for thyssenkrupp Materials NA, Inc. in Northwood, Ohio. 50% domestic travel. Duties include: Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality control, and production coordination; develop and provide time analysis for processing and non-processing orders, amount of time responding to phone calls, quotes, orders, or general responses to answer customer inquiries; perform continuous improvement (CI) with sales to determine how to reduce quote times; make process improvements to flow and use updated drawings to verify clearances, safety impacts, flow impacts, and employee ergonomics; lead projects with vendor to apply automation to the saw cutting process; use AutoCad, process flow analysis, machine specifications, electrical diagrams, and Programming diagrams, including Ladder diagrams for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to create automation within various plants; create CI ideation board/process of employee suggestions for daily duties, time studies, and creative process improvements, and manage improvement process; and reconfigure daily tracking production dashboard, and collaborate with colleagues to create live sheet to update team on day-to-day operations. Req’s: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or closely related field of study, or equivalent foreign degree. 2 years of experience in a lean or quality engineering position, or in a closely related engineering role. Must have a total of 2 years of work experience with a combination of all of the following: directing Kaizen events and CI teams; reviewing and creating job standards and work instructions; working with routings and bills of materials on MES systems; and applying safety reviews and audits on machines, processes, and inventory management.
