Job Summary
The Punch Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press equipment to process metal products according to customer and quality specifications. This role works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and plays a key part in ensuring safety, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor Vaski punch press equipment safely and efficiently.
- Review work orders and setup instructions to verify material and processing requirements.
- Perform quality inspections using measuring tools and record inspection results per established procedures.
- Verify material and product dimensions meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Load, unload, move, and stage material throughout the production process.
- Complete production reporting, inventory transactions, and productivity logs accurately.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment.
- Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming material and scrap.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to resolve production issues.
- Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives.
- Train and assist other operators when required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing equipment, preferably punch press, stamping, or metal processing machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, setup instructions, and measuring specifications.
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly and perform physical work in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating Vaski punch press equipment.
- Experience in the metals, steel service center, or manufacturing industry.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience or certification.
- Computer literacy and experience with production reporting systems.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Hiring range: $20-$22, plus 0.65 shift premium pay.
