We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to drive the development of scalable data products and modern data platform capabilities. Working at the intersection of data, AI, and business, you will help transform complex requirements into high-impact solutions that create measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and continuously refine data- and AI-driven business cases aligned with strategic objectives
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from design and development to deployment and operation
- Design and establish a scalable data catalog to improve data discoverability and governance
- Drive the integration of AI- and analytics-based functionalities into existing and new business processes and systems
- Enhance data product generation and data quality management through the application of AI capabilities
- Build, introduce, and scale platform communities (e.g., Databricks) to foster adoption, knowledge sharing, and collaboration
- Actively challenge, shape, and manage business requirements to ensure value-driven delivery
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, Engineers, and business stakeholders across the organization
- Ensure high-quality documentation and compliance with security, governance, and data management standards
Perfil
- University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in designing and implementing complex data & AI ecosystem architectures in enterprise environments
- Strong technical understanding of modern data platforms and data processing approaches (e.g., data engineering, data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouse, data integration, and analytics enablement) and their productive use
- Proven expertise in cloud technologies (preferably Azure), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and DataOps practices
- Experience in leading technical teams and managing stakeholders across multiple organizational levels
- Excellent communication skills, strong strategic thinking, and a pragmatic, solution-oriented hands-on mindset
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
