The key objective of this internship position is to gain corporate experience within an internationally operating automotive aftermarket business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
- Supports and coordinates manufacturing process engineering and time-to-market activities.
- Interfaces with Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, Product Engineering personnel to assure timely production support.
- Performs engineering studies and analyses on existing manufacturing processes to improve process reliability, problem solve, or to improve product quality and cost.
- Supports continuous improvement activities of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Supports the creation and maintenance of easy-to-read manufacturing work instructions.
- Using appropriate statistical techniques, develops validation protocols, completes process capability studies, and process validation.
- Performs product and process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Perfil
Qualifications & Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Machine shop experience strongly preferred.
- Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, tooling, and assembly methods.
- Familiarity with Metric System of Units.
- Knowledge of various production machines, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic.
