Your responsibilities
- Acting as Lead Engineer Process Safety for proposals and projects, ensuring contractcompliant execution and adherence to thyssenkrupp Uhde quality standards.
- Developing Process Safetyrelated requirements and guidelines for all technical disciplines involved in the project.
- Leading HAZID/HAZOP studies and SIL classification workshops, including moderation and documentation.
- Supporting customers in the preparation of environmental and regulatory approval documentation.
- Creating Exzone classifications and plans and coordinating closely with other disciplines.
- Developing personnel protection concepts and specifying equipment and measures for personal and process safety.
- Preparing fire protection philosophies and concepts.
- Providing input for escape route planning and reviewing escape & rescue route layouts.
- Conducting dispersion calculations for releases of flammable or toxic substances.
- Reviewing and coordinating the work of subcontracted engineering partners.
- Managing technical procurement activities for firefighting systems, safety showers, and personnel protection equipment.
- Supporting tender preparation through contract analysis, manhour estimation, technical clarifications, and lessons learned evaluations.
- Acting as a key technical interface toward customers, authorities, licensors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contributing to the further development of tools, processes, and engineering standards within Safety Engineering.
- Providing technical information, training, and guidance to other disciplines and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Your profile
- University degree in engineering, chemistry, process engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Several years (>3 years) of relevant experience as SHE / Process Safety Engineer or Lead Engineer Process, ideally in chemical or petrochemical plant engineering.
- Proven experience in leading work packages or acting as Lead Engineer.
- Knowledge of applicable European and international safety and environmental regulations (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); German language skills are beneficial.
- Strong IT skills (e.g. PHA Pro, PHA Works, PHAST) and familiarity with SAP modules; confident presenter and meeting facilitator.
- Independent, structured working style with the ability to set priorities and act in a customeroriented manner.
- Willingness to travel internationally for projectrelated assignments.
