Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to fulfill the job as summarised below, but not limited to:
- Specification and design of pressure containing equipment
- Preparation of project standards, engineering and technical specifications
- Participating in PFD, P&ID and HAZOP studies
- Assistance in the preparation of MCFDs
- Selection of vendors on technical basis
- Review of Vendor Documentation to ensure design integrity and compliance with specifications and statutory regulations, codes and standards
- Supervision of fabrication and erection on site
Your profile
- BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree / B Tech Degree. Must be registered with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA) or be in the process of registration.
- 7 - 15 years specific C&I design experience with min 6 years in the Oil & Gas environment.
Knowledge of the following international design codes and standards is mandatory:
- ASME VIII Division 1
- ASME Section II Parts A, B and D
- ASME B16.5 and B16.47
- ASME IX
- TEMA
- ASME B31.3
- API 650 and API 620
- Knowledge of the following international design codes will be an advantage:
- PD5500
- AD Merkblätter
- DIN/EN material specifications and certification
