Your responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Senior Digitalization Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the digital future of Uhde GmbH and our Engineering Services. You will develop modern web solutions, create digital products for internal and external customers, and optimize our engineering and business processes through modern, datadriven approaches.

You will be supported by a highly committed and motivated team, the strong backing of our board to drive digitalization, and the creative mindset of our service department, which actively encourages new digital products and ideas.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with business units to understand, prioritize, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop modern software solutions based on C#/Blazor, and Python; experience with React (Native) or TypeScript is a plus.
  • Design and implement robust backend architectures as well as web or codebehind applications.
  • Conceptualization and design of modern user interfaces from mockup and alignment to an appealing and intuitive final product.
  • Integrate modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry) and develop AIpowered solutions in the fields of LLMs, machine learning, and datadriven workflow optimization.
  • Work with relational and timeseries databases.
  • Identify optimization and automation potential of internal workflows.
  • Engage in troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and contribute to shaping our digitalization strategy.
  • Optional: Analysis of data using modern datascience libraries.

Your profile

  • Technical affinity or experience in process engineering, plant engineering, or related technical fields; ability to quickly understand complex subject matter.
  • Strong programming skills in C#/Blazor, and Python; additional experience in React/JavaScript is advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX design, proficient handling of CSS, prototyping, and performanceoptimized modern frontends.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of LLM/ML technologies, data platforms (Fabric/Foundry), and datadriven products.
  • Solid experience with relational databases and timeseries databases.
  • High degree of learning agility, innovation mindset, and strong selfinitiative; willingness to take product ownership throughout the entire PLM cycle.
  • Ability to act as a troubleshooter in dynamic situations.
  • Language skills:
    • German: desirable
    • English: fluent in spoken and written form (mandatory)
  • Willingness to undertake short, occasional international travel to our plant sites.

Location & Work Model

Please note: This position is based at the Dortmund site of Uhde GmbH. We do offer mobile working to a certain extent but a regular onsite presence is required to successfully fulfill the role. We cannot offer a fully remote position.
