The Quality Systems Engineer reports to the Corporate Quality Manager and is responsible for monitoring and auditing the quality of parts produced, as well as maintaining customer relations regarding quality issues for our three manufacturing facilities in Danville, IL and Veedersburg, IN.

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

  • Communicate with customer regarding specifications and complaints
  • Expert in all customer specific requirements
  • Conduct PFMEA documentation
  • Program Coordinate Measurement Machine
  • Handle customer renewals from a quality perspective
  • Track and report quantities of company and customer scrap
  • Acts at IATF internal auditor
  • Facilitates yearly IATF audit and customer walk-through concerning quality issues
  • Perform root cause analysis utilizing 8D, 5 Why or other LEAN techniques to systematically analyze and resolve recurring quality issues
  • Instruct and train in methods and procedures when necessary

Your profile

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • At least 1 year of experience in quality and manufacturing preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of forging and machining processes
  • Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 Standards
  • Ability to develop forms and work instructions
  • Ability to operate gauges and instruments
  • Excellent written and oral language ability
  • Excellent statistical mathematical ability
  • Excellent understanding of Statistical Process Control concepts
  • Ability to perform under stress
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in statistical software programs (i.e. Minitab)
