Your responsibilities

Target of the position

  • Safeguarding of the Procurement Process in strong alignment with Global & Regional Commodity Management starting from acquisition phase via serial ramp-up till serial ramp-down based on a RASCI-matrix

  • Active support for safeguarding the Supply Chain

  • Responsible for the targeted budget incl. chances & risk management for the relevant commodity/commodities

  • Support of a competitive pricing of the Bill of Material during project acquisition phase in alignment with Sales for the relevant commodity/commodities

  • Safeguarding of project commodity targets in terms of part pricing, tooling costs, investments and timing (On time on Target ) in alignment with the BU Procurement Project Management area

  • Support within qualification and development of suppliers in new sourcing markets

  • Safeguarding of the BQEE-process

Key Tasks

  • Safeguarding of the budgeted material prices and relevant action plans

  • Safeguarding of the Procurement guidelines

  • Market screening => early recognition of trends and action fields

  • Ensure in time, in quality, right volume, right pricing, right deliveries for Production material

  • Bidderlist alignment with Global Commodity Management and execution of project reviews incl. maintaining the sourcing planning

  • Ensure competitive awardings incl. transparency on costs (Cost Break Down, VAVE, Cost-Walk) and handling of change management

  • Ensure early involvement of competition already during the development phase for preparing a robust sourcing decision

  • Safeguarding of Carry-over-parts procurement, capacity clarifications with suppliers, price negotiations in alignment with Global Commodity Management

  • Application of Advanced Negotiation Strategies

  • Active support of Claim Management in alignment with Claim & Commodity Management

  • Support of internal and external customers in terms of problem solutions, if needed by getting the support also from suppliers

  • Supporting BoM evaluation for dedicated parts

  • Alignment of Bidders List and Sourcing Strategy with GCM

  • Responsible for full Sourcing process (RFI/RFQ, negotiation, awarding, contracting)

  • Industrialization of component/supplier together with crossfunctional team (BQEE)

  • Tooling Management for individual components

  • Execution of Change Management for dedicated parts

  • Supplier escalation Management before SOP and for highly x-functional issues after SOP (for commercial escalations Commodity Manager has the lead)

  • NPP savings achievement (e.g. VAVE, etc.) in Tandem with GCM

Your profile

  • Economics and/or engineering studies background, combined with Purchasing expertise

  • Presentation, facilitation and negotiation competencies

  • Intercultural competencies

  • Automotive Experience

  • Fluent English skills

  • Special requirements: willingness to travel
