Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations at the Kennesaw Plant to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role drives operational excellence through disciplined execution, workforce development, and continuous improvement, while meeting customer delivery requirements and financial performance targets.The Production Manager will oversee daily production activities, implement standardized processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to support growth in fabrication, assembly, and value-added services aligned with the electrical equipment industry.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
- Lead all day-to-day production activities across fabrication, forming, assembly, and kitting operations
- Ensure production schedules are executed to meet on-time delivery and customer requirements
- Drive adherence to standard work, routings, and manufacturing instructions
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs): safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost
2. Safety & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., STPS, OSHA-equivalent standards)
- Ensure all production activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Partner with EHS leadership to implement audits, corrective actions, and continuous safety improvements
3. Quality & Process Discipline
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards and production control plans
- Support APQP/PPAP processes, including production readiness and validation builds
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues (internal and customer-related)
- Maintain strict adherence to PFMEA and control plan requirements
4. Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives including cellular manufacturing, flow optimization, and waste reduction
- Improve time-on-task, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Implement structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Kaizen, Six Sigma tools)
- Partner with engineering to enhance manufacturability and reduce cycle times
5. Workforce Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production teams to build a high-performance culture
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across all shifts
- Drive training programs to ensure workforce capability and flexibility
- Foster strong employee engagement and communication across the facility
6. Planning & Resource Management
- Collaborate with supply chain, planning, and procurement to ensure material availability
- Align staffing levels with production demand and capacity requirements
- Support capital planning and equipment investments to enhance production capabilities
- Manage labor efficiency and control operational costs
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support new product introduction (NPI)
- Ensure readiness for new programs including tooling, staffing, and process validation
- Support customer visits, audits, and technical discussions as required

- First Pass Yield (FPY) / Scrap & Rework
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Labor Productivity
- Safety Performance (TRIR, Near Miss Reporting)
- Inventory Accuracy & Flow Efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including leadership roles
- Experience in metal fabrication, electrical components, or similar industrial environments strongly preferred
- Proven experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity management, and shop floor execution
- Experience with ERP systems and production control systems

- Multi-site or international manufacturing experience

Job Compensation
$75,000-$95,000/year
