Job Summary
Coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight in order to make pickups and deliveries in an efficient and timely manner. Represent company in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional customer service.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Record and allocate all requests for delivery and pickup within established territories among the available drivers.
- Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
- Records all information for proper billing.
- Make assignments of drivers and trucks. Calls in extra drivers when needed to handle unexpected volume.
- Maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receive and dispatch aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs.
- Communicate with all Drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Keep vehicle inventory with accurate records of trailers being used for off-site storage to ensure proper billing.
- Document, investigate and report equipment damages.
- Maintain metric reports as required by management and or customers.
- Proactively seek out backhaul loads.
- Complete administrative duties timely and accurately.
- Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information.
- All other duties assigned by reporting Manager/Supervisor.
- Participate, support and comply with all health, safety and 6S initiatives and requirements.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- 1-2 years administrative experience required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with MS Excel and Word
- Ability to work without supervision
- Prior experience/exposure to logistics or trucking operations
- Knowledge of DOT regulations as they pertain to our trucking environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace.
- Good management skills in making driver assignments and developing cooperation among the team of drivers.
- Good knowledge of geographical area to facilitate efficient routing.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience as a truckload dispatcher
- Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or related field of study
Job Compensation
$23.50 per hour
