Your responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of raw materials Tubes, Stamping, Machining, Plastics, Sintering.
- Identifies new suppliers, agrees terms and negotiates supply contracts where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates in collaboration and alignment with BU GCM.
- Responsible for maintaining updated status of localization projects, savings, payment terms, price difference invoices, consignment, according to corporate standards.
- Implements and drives new procurement tactics in close collaboration with BU GCM.
- Conducts visits to supplier exhibitions to identify potential suppliers for localization.
- Fosters close working relationships with partner departments, e.g. PRM, MPP, LOG, OPS, QAM.
- Continually improves procurement methods and reduces external spend.
- Conducts visits to suppliers in Mexico and abroad.
- Conducts a comprehensive review of the Procurement function and its methodology and identifies and implements improvements.
- Forecasts demand levels for services and products to meet business needs.
- Supports in the escalation process to LOG area to ensure supply of materials to production areas.
- Conducts research to determine the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality in close collaboration and alignment with BU GCM.
- Participates in budgeting for the purchase of production materials.
- Acts as liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
- Negotiates and approves contracts and monitors their progress, verifying the quality of service provided in close collaboration and alignment with the overall strategic purchasing function.
- Follow-up on payments and invoices to close the Procurement process.
- Evaluates bids and makes recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
Your profile
- Minimum 3 years in similar position.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Advanced English is mandatory.
- Knowledge in documentation and process mapping.
- Excellent command of programs such as: cost savings and cost avoidance.
- Risk analysis (SWOT).
- Management, Organization and Control of Direct Procurement issues.
- New project management and supplier development.
- Analysis and implementation of new business models.
- Elaboration and analysis of cost breakdowns.
- Knowledge of APQP.
- IATF: 16949/ISO: 14001/ISO 45001 audits.
