Your responsibilities

Main tasks:

  • You act as the cybersecurity lead and single point of contact for the Automotive segment.
  • You set up a new Cyber Security organization on segment level defining and maintaining the cybersecurity strategy, principles as well as target architecture for Automotive in alignment with ISec team and the segment CISO.
  • You translate group-wide cybersecurity policies into actionable, domain-specific technical guidelines and operational procedures.
  • You provide direction and technical guidance to InfraSecOps and IT teams on networks, cloud, endpoints, identity and platform security.
  • You define and govern strategic cybersecurity design principles across systems, applications and platforms translated from the AT ISec strategy .
  • You identify, assess and prioritize cybersecurity risks and define mitigation measures, integrating risk management into business decisions.
  • You and your team technically support the risk analyses and supplier assessments according to automotive standards (e.g. like VDA/ISA, ISO27001, NIS2, ISO21434,) and ensure third-party suppliers meet corporate security requirements.
  • You oversee monitoring, threat detectionand coordination of operational IT- and cyber security activities across Automotive environments.
  • You lead the structured operational response to security incidents, ensuring containment, investigation and recovery in accordance with corporate protocols.
  • You coordinate cybersecurity initiatives and continuous improvements segment-wide.
  • You foster cybersecurity awareness, maturity and compliance within all Automotive business functions.
  • You act as a key stakeholder and primary contributor for the Automotive segment within the group-wide Cybersecurity Program, ensuring alignment of initiatives, standards and security objectives.
  • You translate ISec strategy into technical guidelines and operational procedures and define as well as govern strategic cyber security design principles across systems and platforms.
  • Managing cybersecurity risks and controls within the Automotive segment.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Automotive Cyber Security Management System standards together with ISec Team.
  • Functional leadership of distributed cybersecurity resources and virtual teams across regions and business units.
  • Governance and oversight of Automotive-specific security architectures, reference designs and technical baselines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 27001, NIS2, TISAX, UNECE R155/R156, IEC 62443 where applicable).
  • Act as escalation point for major cybersecurity incidents affecting Automotive operations, products or infrastructure.
  • Foster strong collaboration with IT, OT, Engineering, Product Security, InfraSecOps, Enterprise Architecture teams and the Cyber Defense Center.
  • Influence without direct authority, demonstrating strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness and maturity across Automotive business functions

Your profile

  • University degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering or a comparable field.
  • At a minimum five years of professional experience in cybersecurity with significant exposure to Automotive and/or industrial environments.
  • Proven experience in leading security teams as well as defining cybersecurity architectures and operating models at enterprise or group level.
  • Ability to design, implement and assess security controls at enterprise scale.
  • Strong risk-based decision-making capability.
  • Experience in working closely with CISO organizations and senior executive stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of modern threat landscapes, attack techniques and defensive strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security architectures and zero-trust principles.
  • Strong background in at least three of the following domains:
    - Security Operations / Incident Response
    - Governance, Risk & Compliance
    - Identity & Access Management
    - Cloud & Infrastructure Security
    - Application and DevSecOps Security
    - Vulnerability Management & Penetration Testing.
    Solid understanding of product security and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Automotive industry is a benefit.
  • Ability to balance security requirements with business, operational and engineering constraints.
  • Confident and comprehensive written and spoken English (level C1) is required. Written and spoken German (level A2 or higher) desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex cybersecurity topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with various business units and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, resilience and decision-making ability in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Team spirit with a willingness to share knowledge and experience
  • Willingness to travel, if necessary.

Company

The Cyber Security Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing cybersecurity team while ensuring the effective protection of the organization’s information assets, systems, and data. The role operates in close collaboration with the Head of Information Security, ensuring strong alignment between cybersecurity operations, information security governance, and enterprise risk management.

The position acts as a key interface to the Segment CISO, contributing to the definition, execution, and continuous improvement of the segment-wide cybersecurity strategy and roadmap. The Cyber Security Team Leader ensures that operational security measures, risk treatments, and incident response activities are fully aligned with CISO directives, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements, while translating strategic objectives into effective, measurable security execution.

As Cybersecurity Manager Automotive, you establish the foundation and framework for an effective and future-proof cybersecurity posture across the Automotive domain to protect the company against cyber threats.
