Your responsibilities
- Systematic identification and evaluation of customer and supplier claims
- Analyze technical, commercial, and contractual conditions and assess claim entitlement in cooperation with other functions, particularly the lawyers within the Legal Department
- Technical assessment of complex claim situations and evaluation of technical responsibilities and impacts
- Development of structured evidenced-based claim strategies, including scenario evaluations, negotiation strategies, settlement approaches, and risk assessments
- Preparation of claim files, documentation, and supporting evidence in close cooperation with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Procurement, Finance and the lawyers of the Legal Department to ensure consistent, transparent, and timely claim handling
- Support the drafting of clear and professional claim correspondence with strong factual, technical and contractual grounding
- Negotiate with customers and suppliers on claimrelated matters, ensuring robust outcomes
- Support the drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements and related documentation as well as handling alternative dispute resolution and formal dispute proceedings, in close collaboration with the lawyers of the Legal Department
- Support the application, implementation, and further development of the standardized claim management process
- Contribute to best practices, tools, templates, and reporting structures for consistent global claim handling
- Monitor performance indicators to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
- Training and awareness activities on claim prevention, documentation requirements, and contractual risk implications
Your profile
- University degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline is required. Additional qualifications in project management, quality management, or commercial fields are considered an advantage
- At least 5 years of professional experience in claim management or quality management or a comparable role in an international industrial environment
- Sound understanding of automotive industry processes, particularly OEM/Tier1/Tier2 interactions, is strongly preferred
- Strong commercial acumen combined with the ability to interpret technical and contractual documentation
- Proven track record of handling complex negotiations and resolving claims
- Experience in cross-functional project management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams is considered an asset
- Excellent English language skills; additional languages such as German are considered an advantage
- Strong analytical capabilities and structured problemsolving skills
- Ability to assess complex technical issues and translate them into actionable claim strategies
- High level of assertiveness, resilience, and professionalism in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a resultsdriven mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix organization
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility across technical, commercial, and legal functions
- Reliable, detailoriented, and capable of handling multiple claims and priorities simultaneously
