Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Busbar Fabrication Operator & Programmer to set up, program, and operate a Boschert CU Profi (or similar CNC fabrication center) used in the production of copper busbars and related components.Job Description
We are hiring for 3rd shift Monday to Thursday 3:00 pm to 1:00am
Pay range $27-$35 per hour
This role is responsible for machine setup, CNC programming, quality inspection, process improvement, and safe operation while producing high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC equipment for punching, drilling, milling, tapping, slotting, and shearing copper busbars.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and DXF/SolidWorks files.
- Perform tooling setup, machine calibration, first-piece inspections, and in-process quality checks.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot tooling, offsets, and machine performance issues.
- Maintain program libraries, setup documentation, and inspection records.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of CNC programming and machine operation experience.
- Experience with punching, drilling, milling, tapping, and shearing equipment.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and CNC/ISO code editing.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Strong inspection and measurement skills.
- Experience with copper busbar fabrication preferred.
Preferred
- Experience with Boschert CU Profi or similar busbar fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical busbar applications and busbar programming software.
- Forklift certification a plus.
