Your responsibilities

Job Summary

To perform purchasing responsibilities including purchasing, quoting, negotiating, sourcing, expediting, to meet organizational objectives.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the purchase and supply of all procured goods and services
  • Have an understanding of the supply base including contact and general costing information, lead time and capabilities.
  • Establish supplier relationships with both inside and outside sales contacts.
  • Understanding of corporate objectives, sales/ operations/ purchasing.
  • Work with the Cross functional team.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal customers and the supply base.
  • Identify and assess new supply options for current and upcoming purchasing requirements
  • Complete the internal supplier approval process to ensure that all suppliers meet the relevant business standards and all relevant certification and records are up to date
  • Review purchase requisitions and recommend Vendors.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
  • Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
  • Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Conduct research for new suppliers and services.
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or diploma in supply chain management field.
  • Experience understanding of purchasing and supply chain concepts and principles.
  • Fundamental skills in negotiation and cost analysis.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working with external suppliers.
  • Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements.
  • Computer knowledge. (Microsoft Office and solid Excel skills).

Preferred Requirements: 

  • 2-5 years purchasing experience

Job Compensation

65,000.00-75,000.00
