Your responsibilities
Support the design & development of new products and product improvements by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Testing and analysis of steering columns and associated components to meet sound quality requirements and improvement objectives.
- Application of specific calculations and simulation tools (ArtemiS Suite, Head Recorder, MatLab, Anovis, Minitab).
- Organization, set-up, execution, and post-processing of NVH measurements to ensure reliable and robust measurement acquisition.
- Continuous NVH product improvement as well as troubleshooting noise and vibration concerns during the development and serial production.
- Technical contact person for product development, production quality, manufacturing engineering, and production maintenance for product noise and acoustic topics.
- Support production acoustic test bench procedures and product noise assessment.
- Clearly communicate and present acoustic and vibration test and analysis results with summaries and recommendations to appropriate internal and external customers.
- Utilize, modify, and develop in-house software and testing tools to support acoustic group processes and programs.
- Add functionality to existing software tools to improve troubleshooting and evaluation procedures.
- Streamline standard testing measurement and analysis through creation and adoption of software automation tools.
- Perform special and specification acoustic and vibration testing on prototype and production products.
- Is co-responsible for the compliance to the Customer Engineering Specification (DVP&R planning, realization & analysis).
- Ensure appropriate test fixtures, cables, and equipment are available, calibrated, and in good working order.
- Generate testing work instructions for new and updated standard acoustic tests.
- Perform tests and measurements as required in all product development phases.
- Generate test reports and appropriate documentation.
Your profile
Education and/or Experience:
- BS Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, with focus on vibration and acoustics.
- Knowledge in the field of acoustical measurements, signal processing, and modal analysis.
- Experience with HEAD Acoustics Software is desired.
- Extremely high technical comprehension and enthusiasm for advance technical solutions.
- Experience in numerical calculation and software application required, specific skill in VirtualLab and ANSYS desired.
- Competence in theoretical and analytical vibration and acoustics and familiarity with dynamics and acoustic simulation tools such as ANSYS FEA.
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly processes, including the use of statistical quality planning and analysis is desired.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including interpretation of part and assembly drawings.
