Aufgaben
As part of our succession planning, we are looking for a General Manager for the important Automotive customer segment at our Japanese office in Tokyo, starting from 1 February 2024.
- You will lead and represent the Japan office in Tokyo and have a direct reporting line to Senior Vice President Sales Automotive in Duisburg/Germany
- Together with your team of 3 employees you support the business with steel material to European transplants of Japanese OEM (JOEM)
- You will maintain day-to-day contact with strategic partner JFE Steel
- You identify new potential business opportunities with Japanese customers
- You will manage and supervise daily operations as well as the budget, ensuring financial stability
- You will ensure compliance with all company regulations and standards for maximum efficiency and quality
Profil
- University degree in management, strategy, engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Several years` experience in the steel- and/or automotive sector
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills with the ability to manage priorities
- Experienced in working in a multi-dimensional matrix organization
- You like to work in a team and have good coordination skills, integrity, a high level of self-organization and open mindedness with regard to an intercultural work environment
- Ideally you have international work experience and can communicate fluently in Japanese and English
- Optional: Knowledge of German language
