Pay range based on experience & education: $75,000 - $85,000/annual. 6% annual bonus potential.
The Data Collections Engineer is a key contributor to the Process Engineering team at thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components. Specifically, the Data Collections Engineer is responsible to provide strategic recommendations for data collection systems and to provide direction for the improvement of information workflow in the data collection areas. The successful candidate coordinates activities for troubleshooting systems, researching, identifying, and providing resolution influencing day-to day operations activities. They develop programs within the specified programming languages in data collection projects, implementing technology to improve data collection procedures. The Data Collections Engineer provides data from the control level to the data collection database, customized to the needs of the end user. This position is part of a team that is fully engaged in the implementations of highly automated, global technology.
- Manage and oversee production data collection software planning, installation, maintenance, and problem recovery.
- Support, coordinate and oversee production data application development by maintaining application environment and providing technical support.
- Support, coordinate and oversee database administration: stored procedures, triggers, back ups, restores, disaster recovery and security.
- Write code in the specified programming language to bridge applications.
- Create new applications using the specified programming language.
- Troubleshoot and recommend changes to existing programs and modifying them to meet certain criteria.
- Participate on production systems projects.
- Write reports and data retrieval programs
- Develop system and user documentation and provide training.
- Implement new functionalities in cooperation with our Technological Center in Eschen.
- Provides coordination of data collection / data management activities with other plant sites and world wide data management group.
- Other duties as assigned.
Profil
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, with 5 years of experience in industrial data collection incorporating computer technology, software, hardware and Windows operating system.
- Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulation; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures; effectively speak in public and present information and respond to questions from all levels of personnel throughout the organization and external groups. Ability to speak German is preferred.
- Technology: Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience required. Experience with Oracle, a plus. Strong background in Visual Basic, C, C++, and Q-Das Statistical Software is a must.
