Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician ensures raw materials and fabricated metal products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards through visual and dimensional inspections.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and finished metal products.
- Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, tape measures, gauges, scales, squares, and other measuring tools.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Review Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Compliance (COCs), and related documentation.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials and products.
- Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
- Complete inspection reports and enter quality data into company systems.
- Verify shipment documentation as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining, welding, or industrial environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and perform dimensional inspections.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measures, and squares.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Machining, or Mechanical Technology training.
- Previous experience inspecting fabricated metal products, machined components, or industrial materials.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, tolerances, and manufacturing quality processes.
