Job Summary
As an Export Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting our expanding global footprint, taking ownership of export compliance and documentation requirements. You will be a valuable partner to our Sales Lead, handling all aspects of export paperwork and regulatory compliance, including those associated with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification). This position requires expertise in export regulations, impeccable attention to detail, and an understanding of the complexities involved in aerospace, defense, and semiconductor sectors.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Export Documentation & Compliance: Manage all export documentation from preparation to execution, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and CMMC guidelines.
Customs Requirements: Coordinate with customs and logistics to facilitate the smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders. Verify documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Regulatory Knowledge: Stay updated on evolving export control regulations relevant to the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries. Maintain thorough records to support audits and reporting requirements.
Internal Support: Act as a go-to resource for the sales team and operational staff on export-related questions and paperwork needs. Assist in training and coaching team members on export compliance best practices.
Coordination with Freight Forwarders: Develop strong relationships with freight forwarders to streamline international shipping processes and manage documentation requirements.
Problem Solving: Address any shipment issues that arise and work closely with logistics to resolve challenges efficiently, minimizing impact on customer timelines.
Growth Planning: As international demand grows, support our strategic expansion by identifying and implementing best practices in export logistics.

Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in export compliance and documentation, ideally within metal distribution or a related industry such as aerospace or defense.
Knowledge of Key Industries: Familiarity with the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries, with a good grasp of specific regulations affecting each.
Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of export control regulations, including EAR and ITAR, as well as CMMC compliance practices.
Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence in all export documentation.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customs agents, clients, and internal teams.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick-thinking with the ability to troubleshoot documentation or regulatory issues effectively.
Software Skills: Proficiency with export software and familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Certifications in export compliance, such as the Certified Export Specialist (CES) or CMMC knowledge, would be highly valued.
Experience with Metals Distribution: Previous experience in metal distribution, particularly in a role supporting aerospace, defense, or semiconductor sectors.
Job Compensation
$75,000 - $90,000 based on experience + Bonus Incentive Eligible
